Staying busy key to finding work

According to MarketWatch, about 6.5 million Americans were unemployed for at least 27 weeks. While numbers point to an improving picture, it is still difficult for many people to find employment. For unemployed IT professionals, the picture is encouraging, but there are a few things they need to do to remain a desirable candidate for IT companies.

For IT professionals, there are constantly new trends and solutions changing the IT landscape. Rather than sitting around during unemployment, spending time to improve the resume through gaining Microsoft training or learning new software can help improve qualifications while waiting for an interview.

The numbers are expected to continue their climb as companies in several industries are now seeking qualified IT professionals to improve their organization's use of technology. The University of California San Diego Extension School recently reported that healthcare IT jobs, for example, are the fastest-growing market.
