Aptify, a maker of rapid application development systems, announced Thursday that it had released Aptify RAD 4.0, a platform on which developers could rapidly create and deploy applications based on the Microsoft Silverlight platform.
Aptify CEO Amith Nagarajan said that "by using Aptify RAD, users can take full advantage of the Microsoft Silverlight 4.0 technology, SQL Server and .NET. The combination of Aptify RAD, with the latest Microsoft offerings delivers developer productivity gains of 50 percent or greater with a corresponding improvement in time-to-market. Additionally, the applications built on Aptify RAD are easily scalable from a departmental solution up through a full enterprise class environment."
The framework, specifically, will allow both skilled IT professionals and non-developers to create and implement database-driven applications using Silverlight technology. The system is based completely on Microsoft technology, incorporating - along with Silverlight - SQL Server and .NET framework.
Experts say that the new system could offer benefits across many levels of the enterprise, and that .NET developers could take particular advantage of the streamlined development process.
