Obama sees IT as a vital part of American job growth

President Obama’s State of the Union Address highlighted what the top jobs will be moving forward.
Obama made repeated pleas for the country to invest in the future through education. In the next 10 years, nearly half of all new jobs will require education past high school and that higher education must be within reach of everyone.
America has lost its edge to other countries, especially in technology and science, and must increase investment in these areas.
“I will be sending a budget to Congress that helps us meet that goal. We’ll invest in biomedical research, information technology and especially clean energy technology - an investment that will strengthen our security, protect our planet, and create countless new jobs for our people,” said Obama.
Jobs are projected to increase across all sectors of IT in the next decade, including computer scientists with a 37 percent increase, network administrators an 18 percent increase and software engineers a 38 percent increase, according to U.S. News University Directory. The recent healthcare bill will create 4 million jobs in healthcare IT by 2018, growing more than 50 percent.
