Data management systems provider AvePoint this week debuted a new tool that will allow users of Lotus Notes to quickly migrate their data to SharePoint 2010 after the Microsoft product's May 12 release.
The company said that "DocAve Migrator is one of 24 tools available within the recently released DocAve Software Platform v5.4, and provides seamless, comprehensive transfer of content from Lotus Notes to SharePoint." AvePoint particularly highlighted the program's ability to both synchronize data between Notes and SharePoint and transfer it directly.
According to AvePoint COO T.J. Jiang, "as [companies] make plans to transition to SharePoint from legacy platforms like Lotus Notes, it is critical they have the tools to make the migration secure, complete, and in-line with their business schedules. DocAve Migrator is that tool, and we are pleased to announce that it is now SharePoint 2010 ready."
The tasks that SharePoint developers face in migrating data from old systems could be greatly lessened with an implementation of one of AvePoint's programs, experts say.
