SQL Server professional organization PASS announced late last month that Microsoft would commence the launch tour for its SQL Server 2008 R2 product at PASS's European Conference on April 21.

PASS President Rushabh Mehta said that "as the world's largest user-run SQL Server community, we are thrilled to host the official R2 launch kick-off at our popular European Conference. Our attendees will be learning directly from the greatest SQL Server and BI minds in the industry."

Microsoft Germany's Eva Hegemer said that the conference would provide ample opportunities for the IT professionals in attendance to partake in SQL Server training and meet other developers and tech workers to increase their circle of industry contacts.

The conference will also feature 45 separate technical seminars given by the leading experts in their fields, as well as hands-on question-and-answer sessions with official Microsoft technical support personnel. In short, it seems that European IT professionals would be unwise to miss the event, which takes place in Neuss, Germany from April 21-23.
