Microsoft releases security solutions for Word, SharePoint collaboration

With the releases of both Microsoft SharePoint 2010 and Office 2010, the company has also made available its security solutions meant to make collaboration between the programs seamless and secure. Both the Active Directory Federation Services 2.0 and Forefront Protection for SharePoint will help users create and deploy enterprise solutions without hesitation.
Both solutions integrate into the programs with ease and prevent security breaches. As workers share files between Word and SharePoint, the solutions work to ensure that the information that goes from one program to the next is secure and safely downloaded.
"Of course, ensuring valuable information is safe against accidental loss, theft and malicious software is no trivial exercise in the world of cloud computing and cross-company collaboration. Information is the lifeblood of any organization and it must be secured," a member of the Microsoft Forefront Team said.
While managing the new security protocols will take some time to learn, SharePoint 2010 is easier to navigate and provides features that allow administrators to manage the system easier, experts have found.
