Organizations hesitant about updating any of Microsoft's new products, including SharePoint and its SQL Server 2008 R2, can test the products before deciding whether or not to make the purchase permanent with the release of the company's Proof of Concept Jumpstart Kit, according to Microsoft Certified Professional Magazine.

The kit allows organizations to test the new products to decide whether or not implementation will improve operations. Microsoft believes that its new products will help business productivity especially for those with in-depth SQL and SharePoint training. Allowing customers to test products before using them, according to the news provider, is evidence of the company's confidence in their new product line.

"This is a whole new concept from Microsoft that is aimed at organizations that may be reluctant to upgrading to the new offerings," Michael Cherry, vice president of research at the Directions on Microsoft consultancy, told the news provider. "What's new about this is that it is enabled by virtualization."

The products are due for enterprise release on May 12 after the company announced in mid-April its final editions were sent to the manufacturer. Microsoft collected substantial user feedback in designing the products to ensure that customers would view the products as beneficial to their company.
