Jaspersoft releases new BI platform
2/10/2011 9:08 AM
As an emerging class of business, technology and consumer requirements are defining the information technology world, Jaspersoft recently unveiled its vision and roadmap for a new business intelligence platform.
Jaspersoft feels the IT world is characterized by a heightened sensitivity to cost and the consumerization of the enterprise. Currently, only 20 percent of information workers use BI on a regular basis.
The new BI offering will require a flexible architecture, enterprise consumer-ready interface and a cost-effective business model.
"BI platforms need a revolution so they can become a thrust for organizational success. With the explosion of data upon us, most companies continue to under-utilize BI, even in the face of the opportunities it creates for better decision-making," said Neil Raden, founder of Hired Brains.
"I'm optimistic that a vendor like Jaspersoft, which is building BI with an eye towards the requirements of the new IT world, can take advantage of these new opportunities and overcome the BI barriers of the past,” Raden added.
A recent Boston Globe article found that business intelligence analysts will be one of the hottest IT jobs in 2011, placing fifth out 11 jobs listed.
