IT professionals could use training to help cooperative efforts

While the vast array of specializations present in the world of corporate IT can make it seem as though such specialists are worlds apart in their expertise, Lori MacVittie of .NET Developers Journal writes that good training can help put the pieces together.
According to MacVittie, "one of the most difficult challenges in advocating the employment of a solution that is essentially a hybrid of two existing (and entrenched) concepts such as networks and applications is not only getting those responsible for each 'side' of the solution to talk to each but to work together."
MacVittie says that, left unchecked, this kind of interdepartmental disharmony can grievously damage an enterprise's prospects of successfully adopting important new technologies, like cloud computing and virtualization, harming its future prospects. She quotes 90s comedy Wayne's World, saying that, "like Garth, we fear change."
However, experts say that the implementation of thorough IT training regimes that emphasize the necessity of cooperative work with specialists in other fields can be a powerful tool against the onset of such turmoil.
