IT job listings remain high on CareerBuilder

Online jobs listing firm CareerBuilder recently said that opportunities in the IT industry remain among the strongest areas on its website.
CareerBuilder said IT jobs listings are up 39 percent compared to last year. That represents one of the highest increases on the website. By comparison, human resource listings have increased 33 percent and manufacturing opportunities are up 27 percent.
Still, CareerBuilder Chief Executive Officer Matt Ferguson said there is still much work to be done.
"Jobs are being created, but not yet in volumes needed to bring down the unemployment rate," said Ferguson, according to UPI.
CareerBuilder also said that job seekers in the entry-level market may have the best opportunity to land a career. Entry-level listings are up 46 percent from a year ago, while managerial listings have risen 27 percent.
Recent strong gains in the IT jobs market could be the continuation of strong numbers from the summer months. At 19,500, new IT jobs accounted for 70 percent of the technology services positions created between June and September, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
