IT certifications and education more important than ever

As more organizations look for applicants with the proper information technology skills, training is more vital and more accessible than ever.

The economy is slowly picking back up, but IT continues to thrive and more people are looking for ways to become certified and educated. Workers should not simply rely on their smarts to get ahead in the IT world, as many company founders have done. Of all the workers currently in the IT field, 86 percent have a college degree, according to MSNBC’s Chris Farrell.

For those who are unable to be a full-time student, online training is more accessible for those seeking IT certifications. Online training centers offer flexible options to fit each person’s requirements and schedule, in order to help them become certified IT professionals.

According to a recent survey Oliver Wyman Group and the National Association of Corporate Directors, 99 percent of board members said IT will affect their organizations in the next five years. Also, 36 percent of those surveyed said they expect IT will improve efficiency at their companies and 30 percent said IT will provide a competitive advantage.
