Different companies using SharePoint to improve operations

To introduce SharePoint 2010 to its Canadian market, Microsoft Canada teamed with the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League and Habaneros Consulting to create an application that helps scouts keep track of and discuss young players. Meanwhile, Starbucks recently developed a solution that helps new baristas learn how to make the company's specialty coffee drinks, according to the Seattle Times.

The development of SharePoint 2010 has increased the use of the product in multiple industries as companies look to improve their web visibility by hiring IT professionals with SharePoint training. The application is especially popular because it allows workers to collaborate on projects from any location.

"People are coming to me constantly saying they want to collaborate better, more easily; they want to find data in a more structured fashion," Goldman Sachs analyst Sarah Friar told the news provider. "SharePoint has created a great position for itself in being able to answer some of those pain points."

ITBusiness Canada recently reported that SharePoint developers are in especially high demand in Canada as companies look to improve business by developing solutions that improve their performance internally. Moreover, they want to increase their web visibility by creating easy-to-use websites.
