Job seekers searching for a technology opportunity may find their best chance for employment in a green industry, according to the recently released Clean Tech Job Trends 2010 report.
Published by Clean Edge, the report identifies green industries as some of the best for technology job growth in the coming years. Researchers have made their prediction based on the fact that 3 million technology jobs were created in such industries last year alone, according to the report.
"There are many challenges facing the sector, but clean energy and more broadly, cleantech, offer some of the largest growth opportunities on the global economic horizon," the report states.
This could mean prospective employees searching for .NET developer jobs and programmer careers could find opportunities in green industries. In terms of where such jobs will be most abundant, Clean Edge cites Silicon Valley in California at the top of the list. The Los Angeles and Boston metropolitan areas round out the top three.
The United States government continues to pour money into efforts to create and maintain jobs, especially in green industries. With the help of funds from the stimulus package, California recently launched a website dedicated to careers in green industries.
